This is a sand product that was formulated for the elephants that once inhabited the Calgary Zoo. The Calgary Zoo required a sand that was soft enough to be comfortable for their feet but also firm enough to prevent them from being easily displaced by their weight. This 'elephant sand' facilitated the animals' natural movement and lie down without causing stress on their joints. Elephants enjoyed rolling in the specialized sand which also helped with cooling and protected their skin from parasites. Delivery is available in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane and Okotoks.
